What to Expect & FAQ
We appreciate the opportunity to CONNECT with you online and welcome the opportunity to CONNECT with you during one of our services. Please consider visiting us soon. We want it to be easy for you to come to church and it is our hope that you experience a great time in worship and meet friendly people who will welcome you.
We know that first time visits to any church can be quite uneasy and may raise many questions and concerns. Here’s a quick look at some frequently asked questions (FAQ) that will hopefully give you a better idea of what to expect when you come to visit us. If you don’t see an answer to your questions here or on any of the specific ministry pages, please feel free to contact us via email at info@DominionWord.com or by calling 940.566.DOME (3663). Our staff would love to assist you in preparing for your first worship experience at Dominion Word.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
There is no dress code at Dominion Word . Please, come as you are. Many of our members like to "dress up" on Sunday while others like a more casual look. We'll be glad for you to wear what is comfortable for you. Our focus is on worshiping God, not what people are wearing. At Dominion Word, you will find a variety of styles ranging from suits and ties to jeans and a polo. The most important thing is that you come with a heart to receive the truth found in The Word of God and a willingness to be open to and worship His presence.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT WHEN I ARRIVE?
Expect to find a welcoming, relaxed and positive atmosphere at each of our worship services. Our Sunday morning worship service starts promptly at 10:30 a.m. A friendly member of the DWM Greeters Ministry will meet you at the door and direct you to the sanctuary. You will then find one of the many DWM Ushers who will help you find the perfect seat for you. At Dominion Word we believe in the truth of John 13:35 which says, "By this shall all men know that you are my disciples that you have love one for another." We are intentional with our efforts to make you feel CARED FOR while visiting. Service begins with praise and worship, followed by scripture reading, a selection from our music ministry, an official welcome, brief fellowship opportunity and worship through giving. The service culminates with a practical and relevant teaching from the Bible and concludes with prayer.
ARE THERE SPECIAL PROGRAMS FOR MY CHILDREN?
At this time, we provide Children's Church on each second and fourth Sunday of the month. Every third Sunday is DWM Youth Sunday, and the children actively participate in the main morning service. We acknowledge that ministry to children is a vital part of any church or ministry and we do not take this area of ministry lightly. We are diligently working to develop and implement a Children's Church for each Sunday of the month. For now, children are invited to be part of the worship experience with their parents. However, during our Wednesday Deeper Life Bible Study there is ministry for children and youth.
HOW ARE VISITORS RECOGNIZED?
WE DO NOT WANT TO PUT YOU ON THE SPOT. You will be asked to stand so we can acknowledge you, but we will NOT ask you to say anything. We want our members to know you are present so they can make extra effort to meet, greet and CONNECT with you. You will be asked to complete a visitor's information form. We ask you to simply drop it in the offering receptacle so that we can have a record of your visit. We want you to have a wonderful experience at Dominion Word and we strive to create a friendly and comfortable environment to make you feel right at home. At the end of the service we ask you to stop by the CONNECT Point in our lobby to receive a special gift that will be prepared for you.
